MACHINES

Metals on canvas in motion! Shapes are caught at tipping points. Machines run on unlikely cogs and wheels. Satellites send signals, space pioneers draw plans. Portraits become mechanised, and a train and its passengers become one complex object. These abstract artworks use copper, brass, bronze and rusted iron, with gold leaf, some inks and specialist finishes. Some areas are highly polished, contrasting with areas textured with controlled oxidsation. Each painting is unique. Photography © Strat Mastoris
